Burger & Lobster

I was waiting about half and hour just to get a seat at this restaurant, the renowned place where all my friends had suggested me to give it a shot.

Yes I am talking about 'Burger & Lobster' located at Soho, London where I went with my friends. I had heard so many people talking about how delicious the food was, especially I am a fan of lobster *grin* so I had been tempted to visit several times, however, it always packed.... If you arrive after 6 pm, I can guarantee you that you probably have to wait for hours. Even in my case, I arrived about 5:30 pm but still I had to wait 30 minutes until one of the tables was available.

Just to remind you that you need to have at least  £20 to order the lobster dishes which are classified into three different styles; 1) Grilled lobster and garlic butter 2) Burger 3) Lobster Roll with sides. All three of them are 20 quid so it depends on you favourable taste either you want the WHOLE LOBSTER or served with a bun/burger.

Personally, I think the grilled lobster looks the most worth for the price because you can get to eat the fresh lobster in a whole package (that means you have to crack it too) However, my favourite one is the Lobster Roll because eating mainly lobster is a bit too much for me. I REALLY impressed with the quality of the food because it was so fresh and seasoned perfectly. I was really satisfied with the price as well since everything's worth to pay, compared to the big portion served with delicious food.

At first, I thought it was a bit expensive because 20 pounds would save me for a week lol, but trust me I think it is worth to try :)

4 Tips for Job Interview

This is my work space or known as a tiny The Equinox Fashion's HQ. That's right I have renovated the living room in my apartment to be my personal office where I can work properly. I am working as a street fashion blogger for almost 4 years, however, I was contacted by the representative from City Calling regarding the experience in a job interview that I am very keen on sharing my personal experience with you.

Not only working on The Equinox Fashion, I also constantly send my resume to the companies out there so that I can have more opportunities to work in the related field. I do enjoy being a blogger and Master Degree student, but still I need more experiences in this industry. I have had a chance to work as a content writer, fashion assistant, English teacher and even waitress at the restaurant. I feel blessed with everything I have done, even though, I didn't enjoy some bits of them. Actually, I (cheeky) decided to work at Thai restaurant because I wanted to know how the food industry was like, as well, as how to run the food business since I have been thinking about saving more money to open Thai restaurant. You know being a fashion blogger is not gonna last forever..

I have been invited to many job interviews, and here are the '4 tips' (based on my experience) I would love to share with you guys.

1. Be 'in time'

It always happened to me back then when I arrived at the interview places on time and I didn't feel good. Sometimes, I stuck in the traffic, while sometimes Google couldn't help me locate the direction. You know when you are in a rush and Google seems to act like a **** how frustrating is that?! Therefore, I would love to suggest you guys to go there at least 15-30 minutes before the actual time so that you can get ready.

2. Professional Outfit

Even though I am a street fashion blogger, it doesn't mean that I am gonna wear ripped jeans or tank top with leather jacket to the interview. You can show who you are by what you wear, but elevate the look to be more professional and suitable with the career. Don't get me wrong, I don't wear a suit to the interview anyway lol However, I always bring a 'blazer' with me. You know you can wear whatever underneath as long as you have that must-have blazer to cover.

3. Be Yourself

Some of you may have the experience in dealing with a bitchy HR person...well at least I have LOL You can choose to answer whatever you want, you can even please the HR by answering whatever they wanna hear. It is good to be loved by the interviewer so you will get a job. However, I am one of the people who can't pretend to please others and answer like a pro because I have never practices in interviewing believe it or not? I just get ready 10 minutes in front of the interviewing room (by listening to rock music), then being straight up right away. I always think like what if I please them, get accepted but eventually not enjoying myself in such environment?...What I'm gonna do then?

4. Research

Researching the information about the company you are going to apply for always be a super idea! Just so you know, the interviewer will always ask "What do you know about our company?" It would be a shame if you can't answer the question though. Also, please make sure to read the description about the position too!

p.s. I don't know about you but I always play rock or electronica music before having the interview because it encourages me to be more than ready!

Summer Style Collaboration with Motel Rocks

I can't be any happier that we are officially in Spring season since I was struggling to live in Manchester through the worst Winter nightmare when a girl from a hot country like me will never ever be able to getting used to the cold lol. Another reason why I love living in the hot country is I can happily play with my clothes. As you can see that today I am wearing a sunflower dress by Motel Rocks

To be honest, I am a fan of this online retailer because the products provided are very chic but not too girly for a girl like me who loves rock and electronica music. I was very delighted when I received an email from Motel Rocks regard the summer style collaboration with The Equinox Fashion, and that's why I chose this "Madge Strappy Dress in Sunflower Print" because the sun is shinning, and I just wanna wear something cute yet suitable with my style. As soon as, I saw this dress, I knew instantly that I would mix&match it with my favourite must-have leather jacket. I love wearing my biker jacket with everything because it boosts my confident every time I put it on.

Some of you may know that I will be going to Bangkok, Thailand next month and I will absolutely take this dress with me since it would be extremely hot! I can't wait to see my family which I haven't seen for more than half a year, also my 16 year-old dog and friends. I can't wait to go to DvF grand opening event, and Martin Garrix live at full moon party next month.

I am more than ready to come home for a short vacay!

I Don't Have any Style Icons in Fashion

It has been a few years in this blogging journey and I feel appreciate about everything I have done in every activity including being a volunteer or doing a photo shoot with other fashion bloggers, however, I still don't have any style icons in fashion industry.

Last year, I remembered saying "I don't have any specific styles or favourite stars in this industry since I always inspired by music

Yesterday, I was asked if I had ever been influenced by any of my friends or culture, my answer's still "No, I don't even feel like I can be influenced by anyone when the only thing that triggers me is 'music'"

I actually mean it when I said that because I can maintain my personal branding as a street fashion blogger, not being changed by what society expects. It's like you know some people are easily influenced by what others are wearing and eventually they have merged themselves into the mainstream of the fashion trend. However, it's not going to drive us anywhere if we are wearing the same products, or have similar style like others.

Actually, it is like a weird feeling to be in this industry without the style icon like everybody else. I browse online and see what other people wear, or even read the article about the red carpet's fashion, however, I still feel like it doesn't suit me anyway. It is true that we all have to adapt the trend to be in our own styles, but sometimes it doesn't work that way because whatever that doesn't work is still going not to work. I have seen many celebrities or fashion bloggers wear flares or 70s vibe clothing pieces lately, and I think they look chic and beautiful, but such fashion style will never work on me since I am too short to wear flares LOL. Besides, my style is a street style and I don't want to be 70s trendy girl when I feel the most comfort in my own look.

So what kind of music that inspires me?

I love rock music *smile* but lately I have been into electronica tune. It always motivates me to go to my wardrobes and bring out the best in me. Well, my favourite artists or Djs are varied, but mostly I listen to Skrillex, Prodigy and Nicky Romero. I don't really listen to pop music or mainstream that much since I get bored easily. Honestly, I also listen to Beatles too :)

Hancocks Manchester

If you guys remember when I mentioned in the post about my life as a normad travelling between London and Manchester, Hancocks Jewellery was the event I headed to after Manchester Arndale. I truly love the workaholic energy when I had to go to three events in the same day. Crazy huh!?

Hancocks Manchester is Manchester based jewellery shop providing a wide variety of magnificent and high-quality diamonds for "him&her." The Equinox Fashion was invited to the store and prepared with champagne surrounded by beautiful diamonds, I wish my mom was here with me since she LOVES wearing these elegant pieces! Even though, I am not into this type of woman's must have that much, my weakness is the emerald *smile*. That's right the green, emerald would be one of the best things I would love to buy and keep it for life, maybe it is the heritage passed from my grandma -> mom -> me. We all love "Emerald

However, Hancocks' products were so beautiful that I didn't want to leave the room! There were so many pieces I loved, especially the diamond earrings which were so pretty and sparkling! I don't really wear diamond necklaces due to my concern of my own safety, but I wear earrings most of the times.

They are actually the items I can't live without though :)

Here are some of the photos I took during my visit at Hancocks Manchester.

Sweatshirt is My Comfort Zone

"Sweatshirt is my comfort zone" I totally mean it when I said that because it is one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobes.

I have been a street fashion blogger for almost four years (time flies!) and I can see lots of progressions in me including my street style which seems to be a bit different from the beginning. However, one thing that I haven't changed a bit is my purchasing behaviour. Call me crazy because I keep buying similar sweatshirts whenever I go shopping. In my heart, I truly realize that I need to stop this habit because I have probably 5 or 6 sweatshirts alike...well they are in different colours anyway lol.

Personally, I love purchasing sweatshirts from online retailers, especially street fashion stores because they always provide me as one of the customers a wide variety of cool sweatshirts that you may not be able to find in department stores. In fact, the quality of the products offered by some high-street retails may not be as good as online's. From my experience, I bought the sweatshirt from Topshop a while ago, and now I feel as if I wasted my money because the fabric and material of the product is so rubbish (meh!)

Recently, I have got an email from "The Yub" shop, an online street fashion retailers based in Singapore, asked me if I would love to select any pieces from the website. Of course! I would love to because its items are so unique! Even what I am wearing right now is also from The Yub shop, this hardcore Monroe has been one of my favourite pieces so far because I haven't seen anyone in Manchester wearing it yet. Also, instead of choosing my signature black colour, I decided to go for the vibrant one. This pink sweatshirt is very versatile like I mentioned since I have mixed and matched with a broad range of bottoms such as leggings and skinny denim.

It is such a good feeling when you eventually find the right shop who can provides you the right clothes which you can call your style!

"I Felt Embarrassed Wearing Traditional Outfits...So Elepprint was Born!"

The Equinox Fashion was born from my passion to street style, however, it also leads me to people from all around the world. Apart from fashion, getting to know others is what I have always wanted to do since life always surprises me in both positive and negative ways, sometimes you think you know certain people but actually you don't until the day you really have a chance to get to know them by having a conversation. To be honest, I am one of those perplex types of people, so just one conversation may not be enough lol I am extremely down to earth and funny person, but I don't really let anyone get to know me that easily. I am very open-minded person but it is not easy to live in this modernized society when you don't know who's being honest or who wants to take benefits from you right? It's not just about me or fashion bloggers out there, but I love to get to know more about the brands I have worked with too. Recently, "Elepprint" sent me an email and asked me if I wanted to style its t-shirt with the elephant symbol as the logo of the brand. I said yes because I am an animal person so I thought it was just another elephant conservation, however, I was wrong, totally wrong.

The brand's created by Mong Vang who felt embarrassed wearing his own traditional outfits because his root's from Hmong, an ethnic group originally from South East Asia. Being Asian grew up abroad can make some people feel awkward too because you just look different from others. When I was young, I had a chance to be an exchange student at NZ and surprisingly those students at the college looked at me and my friends like we were aliens Lmao but I got the best host family and friends who took care of me, so I had such a great time. Anyway, the story behind Elepprint is amazed me because the brand's born from a strong passion of one person who wants to expose his ethnic to society.

"My name is Mong Vang and I am the owner of the small apparel brand “Elepprint”. As a young minority growing up in America, I felt embarrassed wearing traditional outfits around because they were too exotic, so I searched for contemporary apparels with any essence of a cultural identifier, but unfortunately, there weren't any. So “Elepprint” was born! Like other branded apparels such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Locoste, etc...my logo is made up of an Elephant and Swirl embroidery at the left chest. The Elephant represents royalty, strength, power, and much more in Asia, Africa, Europe, and even in the Americas. The swirl is a design from textiles created by the tribal ethnic Hmong minorities from Southeast Asia. The swirl represents an elephant's foot stomp, which Hmong ancestors followed to the water source/survival. Color is a powerful way to radiate optimism and positivity, so our design comes in many colors such as Black, White, Blue, Red, Green, Pink, and other colors upon request. We hope to expand to polos, sweaters, hoodies, caps, pants, and so much more in the future"

The tee I received was made in MN and it is 100% cotton, it is a simple piece but very versatile when styling because I can mix and match it with almost anything. If any of you want to know about the brand, you can visit the website or Facebook for more information.

Adidas Gazelle

"Adidas Gazelle" will be the perfect gift for my dad because I haven't seen him for more than half a year, so I absolutely want to buy him something he loves.

A few weeks ago, MAINLINE MENSWEAR contacted me to participate in the competition which the winner will be provided 12 pairs of Adidas throughout the year. Obviously, I couldn't participate in the campaign because it is only restricted to guys only *sad face* However, the company was kind enough to offer me a pair of Adidas Gazelle as I mentioned to them that I was looking for something for my beloved father. Even though it's not a father's day, this pair of Adidas would make him fall in love because he is a fan of sportswear.

He has probably almost 10 pairs of running shoes because he loves jogging, so this pair would be number 11th. My dad has raised me in a manly way since I am the only girl of the family (well not include my mom) I have two older brothers, therefore we all obsess in working out routine. Personally, I am a fan of Adidas because I have been wearing a pair of its running shoes for almost a year. So far, my trainers are still in a good shape and I love the fact that the fabric of this brand is really light-weighted yet contains the high-quality of the material which supports my feet when running.

FYI, it is very important to invest on the sportswear or any high-quality trainers if you guys are into working out. I have injured myself several times, especially my knees because my old trainers were rubbish. I was tempted by the price which was insanely cheap, but they didn't even support my weight, so I had to gave them to the charity eventually. Bye bye bad trainers.

Once again, thank you MAINLINE MENSWEAR for the pair of Adidas Gazelle, I really love the colour which is so Spring vibe!
