Once in a life time being a part of Siam Paragon International Couture Fashion Week 2012.

Some people might say that working in a fashion industry, being a blogger or fashionista is a glamorous thing, especially in such a big event like "International Couture Fashion Week" would be superb! But seriously, there are more than just participating the event, sitting in the front row, watching the trend and clapping hands for models...Let say it is all about "Hard-working&Creativity" 

I had an opportunity to spend a time in working as a liason for Frederick Lee's team, a designer team from Singapore during Siam Paragon International Fashion Week 2012, the first couture week in Asia and of course in Bangkok itself. The fashion week hosted on September 25 to October 1, 2012 at Siam Paragon. This event had the world renowned designers from all over Asia also Christophe Josse from Paris.

It can be seen that Bangkok, Thailand has become one of the leading fashion city among South East Asia countries, but high-fashion like this is like an eye-opened to me. I had never been to Paris or Milan just to watch the couture week before, but now I even had a chance to join and collaborate with designer's team directly. Thus, instead of telling about the runway or collection trend, here I am going to share my true experience also tell you what I have learnt and how the backstage in reality is like. Trust me, I have been to some fashion shows but nothing can be compared to this event!

Truth is, I was a bit nervous at first but you know how lucky I was to work with Frederick and his team, they are so generous and professional. I had never known about Singapore's fashion before, but Fred's designs are beyond words. I was absolutely speechless when I saw his work, I mean Couture fashion is named for hand-made and refined designs right, but now I could see them all with my own two eyes. Like how could he design something like that!? Every single piece is more than magnificent! To be honest, I walked around the room, touched every dress even the feathers that I wouldn't be able to touch in my real life such as a peacock.... 

My duty was to help the team in translating, working on the tasks in order to accomplish and run the fashion week smoothly, as well as cooperating with Kudo organizer and models.

 However, apart from fashion experience I have learnt, "friendship" is another thing that really happened. I had a chance to get to know lots of talented people during this amazing week. Not merely just smiled and said hi, I and another liason teamed up with them. Sounds easy as it may seem but it's really hard-working. We came across wide variety problems, particularly "model" For instance, models' queues were jammed, some popular models were taken by other designer teams, some models' body shapes were not matched with the designs and etc. We were running around all day long lol. There were happiness, joyful and tension mixed up in the room. 

Obviously, such a grand fashion week you watch on television or Youtube is not really easy since the fact that it takes time and lots of effort to make the final outcome look tremendously splendid with no errors (or at least). Some of my other friends did cry, some of them even stayed up til 3 or 4 am in the morning. However, Fred and his team members never kept me and my friend til 7 pm because they didn't want a girl like us to go home late (except the day we were willing to attend the fashion show nights :D ) Plus, we had a chance to have dinner, exclusively lunch and massage on weekend!  Heavenly on earth :)

From the first day til the show ended, this's one of the best unforgettable memories for me. It teaches me how the real fashion show/ fashion industry is like. Absolutely, this's a massive encourage to drive me to the fashion career I want to succeed, yet there are several things to learn :)

"Studded Vest" Inspired by Punk-Rock Music

Studded Denim Vest and Inspiration

Studded, ripped denim and skinny jeans are all my favourite items in my personal wardrobe. It is obviously be seen that my style is not a sweet dress, floral gown or mini-skirt (I can wear them but it just not what I have in mind) But instead, I feel more confident when I mix&match some kinds of urban street clothes together. It looks 0% feminine, however, it is what I like and it is just the style that makes me feel like myself the most. At first, I was merely wearing American flag crop top and black velvet high-waist pants, but it looked quite flat, so I thought that layering with this studded/beaded denim vest would make it looked more interesting.

The look was inspired by Sum 41(my favourite old school band) since I wanted to look a bit punk-rock yet remains the sense of down-to-earth like "heyyyy let's hang out" :D

Up to now, I have been asked "who my inspiration is?" and the answer is still the same. 

So don't be surprised if my answer is "I don't know, maybe music"

I mean I have favourite brands and people who I look up to such as Marc Jacob or Westwood, but mostly I can say that all my outfits are always inspired by "MUSIC" I don't really know how to explain but it just happens like "it pops up in my head all of sudden" 

Isn't it good to wear whatever that make you feel like yourself? :)

No matter if you are going to work or evening party, this brand is the answer of everything. For instance, laptop and gadget bags, luggage, jackets, oxford shirts even daily personal commodities, especially the classic Mill Leather and Waxwear.

The other reason is I just love how the store's decorated. If you have a chance to visit Jack Spade in Big apple, London or Japan, you will see that every branch's decorated in the "Mid-Century" style, it's the combinations of clothing store, barber and library. Plus, It doesn't look too high-end to step in, in contrast, it looks absolutely comfy and warmth like an accustomed feelings when we are at home. The furniture which has been used is quite similar to what we recognize in our rooms such as wooden tables, closets and etc. Besides, I like the idea of how the photos that have been hung on the walls or attached in the shelves because that's what I do at home (to get inspire) :) Thus, no wonder why I can spend my time in opting and looking through those pictures for half and hour.

From a pair of baseball gloves to shiny leather products in nowadays, Coach has been renowned for its women handbags and purses for decades. It can obviously be seen that whenever girls are stopping by at the shopping complexes or factory outlets, one of their main targets probably is a Coach bag. Especially when it's on sales, all I can see from the outside is girls are perplexedly walking like there's a runway in the middle of the store. They are choosing the bags like shopping at grocery stores! (this is the reason why I hardly go inside since there are too many people, plus long queue at the cashier) Well it's fun to see human nature whenever it comes to a jumble sale, isn't it? 

But if you ask what attracts me to spend much money on just only one bag, well...my promptly answers are

• First "Quality" it's really worth to spend money or you special budget of the month on something you can use for a long time. Just imagine that you have been working 24 hours/day and almost 30 days a month, so why not treat yourself with something you "deserve"? Especially Coach, the more you possess the bag, the more beautiful leather you have.
• Second is the variety of designs. One of the reasons why I love going to Coach's store (when it's not crowed) is there are so many options to pick. I mean, you don't have to go to several stores just to buy the bag products because Coach has already provided and offered everything you are looking for such as a handbag, purse, Duffle sac and etc. Besides, I love the store's decoration, it looks very comfy and well-organized like I can spend an hour walking in a store like that :)

However, if you are a fan of accessories (just like me) the Coach's jewelries is something you do not want to miss. Apart from the bags, the bracelets, bangles, necklaces and rings are absolutely shiny and gorgeous. You can either mix&match with high-end dress or daily style due to the versatility of accessories that capable of boosting up the elegant and make you look more outstanding.  "Lavish, precisely enameled and layered with gold.
